CREWMAN AIRLIFTED FROM FISHING VESSEL LILLI ANN FOLLOWING FOOT INJURY

February 15, 2011

A 43 year old crewman, Toun Tran, has been airlifted from the Alaska fishing vessel LILLI ANN. The evacuation of Tran from the LILLI ANN, which was located 124 miles southeast of St. Paul, was coordinated by HealthForce Partners.  HealthForce Partners is a ship to shore medical service that provides medical consultation to many Alaskan fishing vessels when crewmen are injured or become seriously ill.  Tran reportedly suffered a serious injury to his foot that required emergency assessment and treatment beyond the capabilities of the vessel. The LILLI ANN is a 124 foot longliner which was recently acquired by the Coastal Village Region Fund in a deal with American Seafoods involving multiple vessels.
