Injury and Medevac of Crewman from Massachusetts-based F/V OSPREY

On Monday morning, May 21, the Coast Guard received a report that one of the F/V OSPREY crew had suffered an injury to his face after apparently being struck by a loose cable and that, while the injury had not seemed too serious at first, the man's condition had started deteriorating.

The 46-year-old crewman was airlifted by helicopter from OSPREY, which was about 98 miles east of Cape Cod at the time, to Boston Logan International Airport, where an ambulance awaited to take him to Boston Medical Center.

The man's name and the full extent of his injury have not been reported.
